| 6gto7: | | Why doesn't anybody help them? |
| gtoforlife: | | May I ask why you keep calling them LeMans? The only LeMans in the pic is between the GTO's. (edited) |
| Joe Sparks: | | Grill emblems were probably added. Check the hoods. |
| Mr66: | | If you look at the other pics of these cars, the (brown) and Red GTO's here have LeMans trim on their lower front fenders. This might be a first indicator that they may not be true GTO's. One never REALLY knows on the 64 or 65's without at LEAST looking at the vin tags, or better yet (and more importantly) having paperwork/documentation to prove it a GTO or LeMans. Keep in mind also that any salvage yard (especially years ago) would throw a Tempest/LeMans hood on a GTO just to keep the weather away from the powerplant, as Temp/LeMans hoods were pretty much worthless prior to 1990.. so really the hood alone can be a VERY poor indicator of the vehicle's identity. In my own opinion based on the photos of these 3 Pontiacs, I'd bet that the one on the right had a GTO emblem stuck on the grille within the past 30+yrs before this pic was shot (in 2001).. making the 2 on the right LeMans's, and unsure on the one on the left because it only shows the nose. Could be the real McCoy with a junker hood thrown on it, or could be a bogus 'GTO' with a goat badge slapped on it's face with a junker hood to cover up the goods ;) |
| 09 HEMI C: | | These cars are probably not GTOs because Mr. Ellison would have said so if they were. I wonder if Mr. Ellison is using the parts from these Pontiacs to restore GTOs? |
| Oldgoat: | | Technically, all 64 and 65 GTOs are LeMans with the GTO option. |
