(from the 1967 Lot) 1967 GTO hardtop owned by Ken Mayr Jr. from Baltimore, Maryland. This one has purplish chamelion paint. Ken says, "It has a 700 horsepower 455 engine, a full roll cage painted same as car, and a custom dash and trunk. I have had the car since 1989 did a frame-off resto. Top of the line everything in this car disc brakes, Hotchkiss suspension, 12-bolt rear, MSD ignition, nitro, Turbo 400 transmission, ATI converter, fuel cell, Dominator carb, and a Be-Cool radiator."

(from the 1967 Lot) Take a look at this purple 1967 GTO hardtop. In 1984, my brother had a Dodge Demon that was this color. It was a baaaad car. One day in the driveway, I accidentally backed my jacked-up '68 LeMans right into it from a foot away. The damage was almost imperceptible. Tough old cars.

(from the 1967 Lot) PPG Prizmatique Violet 1967 GTO, left front view. Nick tells us more about his car, "I have had this car since I was 16. That was 7 years ago and now my baby is closer to being finished than she ever has been. This was my daily driver when I was in high school, but then turned in to a project vehicle because I wanted to build the GTO my way. It now has a 1970 Pontiac 400 bored .030 with Edelbrock aluminum heads built by Hansen Racing in New Jersey. The stock suspension was trashed and was treated to a fresh setup from Hotchkis. This includes their disc brake conversion and their TVS, total vehicle system. When it came time for the body work, I began the work myself. Later I turned it over to the professionals."

(from the 2004 Lot) Bob Kraut, GTO Marketing Director from Pontiac, is pictured here in front of the 1967 GTO hardtop from the xXx movie. He spoke about the GTO during the 2004 GTO sneak preview released on the xXx action movie. Here's what he had to say,
"The GTO came out at a time that was a very special period of American culture. It was a time of boundless possibilities and a lot of optimism in our country. And it was a vehicle that was in the right place at the right time. It was a great looking vehicle. It was a great performing vehicle. What made it so special is that it really defined the muscle car era. Pontiac will introduce an all-new GTO later this year - later in 2003. And it's going to have the same bad-ass attitude as the car being drove in the movie. But it's not going to look like that car. It's not going to be a retro car. But it will have awesome performance characteristics, well over 300 horsepower, faster than any other production GTO that we sold. And also, the car is going to have awesome handling capability. I think that if xXx has this car to drive in the movie, he'd have an easier time dodging the bullets."
The car you see in the background appears to be the one that Pontiac toured with in the summer of 2002. It was better-looking than the xXx stunt cars seen on ebay and elsewhere. This car had a nicely finished interior. I saw it at Norwalk, Ohio during the Ames event. It was traveling with a display that included a Vin Diesel van with bold graphics. The van can be seen on the righthand side of the photo. The van has a picture of the GTO on it.

(from the 2004-GTOAA Carshow Lot) Purple 1967 GTO hardtop with a black vinyl top and redline tires mounted on Rally I wheels. This car was parked on the parkway that leads to the host hotel at the GTOAA International Meet. Was anybody confused by the fact that there were THREE Marriott hotels in the same place? There was the Marriott host hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott, and Residence Inn by Marriott. Some people got their reservations confused.

(from the movies Lot) Thom Sherwood sent us updated pictures of one of the xXx GTO stunt cars. Thom explains, "This is the same car (the first of two) sold on eBay by Revolution Studios after the film's release. It is affectionately known as "Stunt Car #1" For liability reasons, the folks at B-J insist on using the term "clone" in their description of this car because it carries a LeMans VIN#." The rocket launching headlights and some other items were added after the car was first sold on eBay.

(from the movies Lot) It has a 350 Chevy crate motor, four wheel discs, etc, for stunt usage. It came with a "Certificate of Authenticity" from Revolution Studios.

(from the movies Lot) It was listed as, 1967 Pontiac GTO "Clone" Authentic "xXx" Movie car. Lot #691 - No Reserve. Options: Color - Blasbery, Trans - Auto, Cylinders - V8, Engine Size - 350, VIN - 2371772112800.

(from the movies Lot) Thom Sherwood tells us about the modifications since it was last sold, "The interior of the car now carries a loose approximation of the interior gauges and controls as seen in the film. They were built by EP Industries and installed in this car AFTER the car returned from Europe for the current (pre-auction) owner. Additional work performed to this car for show purposes includes: headlights that retract into the fender wells, Aluminum rockets mounted on tracks that emerge from the headlight bezels, a rear seat that flips down to reveal a weapons cache, and a rear European license plate that slides to the side behind the rear bumper to reveal a secondary license plate. The rest of the car remains as it was originally sold on eBay. I have done some minor repair work on the car for the current owner and will be attending to the car during the auction on Friday, January 28th, 2005."

(from the movies Lot) Another site vistor spotted the 1967 GTO xXx movie car when the Pontiac movie car trailer came to Schwan Pontiac in Bismarck/Mandan, North Dakota in 2004. That might be the 1969 Judge from The Last Ride movie in the background. The guy on the left is probably saying: "What are you DOING dude? You're TOUCHING the car! Haven't you ever been to a car show before? Get offit!"

(from the movies Lot) Jay Bailey sent in these pictures of an xXx movie car on display at the 2003 World of Wheels Car Show in Kansas City, Missouri. Looks like the car is snorting out flames.
